Dance Bytes Assignments

The past couple weeks, we’ve been trying a different experiment with social media and video than the regular Community Choreography offerings. Rather than asking for moves and then making a video out of them, we’ve given out our own dance instructions and encouraged our Facebook fans and Twitter followers to film themselves interpreting them. Here are some of the responses :

April 29th (World Dance Day) - Assignment : Jump 3x, Windmill arms, Turn head right, Then center, Freestyle, Hula, & Bow.

and turn your head sideways, for the Joyce Theater’s entry:

May 6 - Assignment : box step, plie, raise the roof, kick forward, kick backward, head roll, run in circle. bow.

May 13 - Assignment: twirl, listen, angry bear walk, physicalize frustration OR joy, scratch, wiggle , bow.
