Nominate an Artist

Dear Friends,

Every year Crain’s Business magazine publishes a list of top 40 businesspeople under 40. In past years this list has included anchormen and women, chefs, financiers etc, but rarely (if ever) a cultural figure in dance. Cultural organizations are businesses and our work contributes to the greater economic good just as any non-arts related organization does that employees people and buys goods and services. With this in mind I would like to encourage all of you to nominate an artist and/or arts administrator to be a member of Crain’s 40 under 40. Here is what they are looking for: “overachievers from all industries who have made their mark on a company or entrepreneurial enterprise.” I am guessing we can all think of at least a dozen people in dance alone who fit that bill.

To nominate someone go to www.crainsnewyork.com/nominate. Nominations are being accepted until December 7, 2009. Nominees must be under the age of 40 on March 29, 2010 (the date the 40 under 40 will be published).
