Structural Repairs

In 2001 we built one of the most sophisticated stage floors in the contemporary dance scene, and as is often true with new technology, we have been experiencing technical difficulties. As some of you may know, we will be making necessary structural repairs to our stage floor this summer. While this is challenging, we are looking forward to an even more versatile floor that will allow for expansive sets, weightier scenery, and, of course, happy dancer feet and joints. Below are a few images of us testing new floor samples at Haywood-Berke (the leading installer of sprung theatrical floors in the city) in LIC.

Thank you to Dance New Amsterdam and The Duke on 42nd Street for letting us jump around on your floors as we decided what would be best for us. Thank you to the artists and organizations who have worked with us on scheduling the construction, and finally to the staff here at Dance Theater Workshop who are making it happen.
