Breaking the mold (if it still exists)

This topic came up in Sean Curran’s Coffee & Conversation last night. While this issue has been rolling around for years, it seems to be cropping up once again: the traditional modern dance company model has become increasing irrelevant. A majority of companies are pick up companies and performers are working two to three additional jobs to make ends meet. And while none of this is news, no new models are popping up. Anyone know of a choreographer or company that is making it work? Does anyone have ideas?
