Thanks for putting up this article. I'm unquestionably frustrated with struggling to search out germane and rational comment on this subject. Everybody nowadays goes to the very far extremes to either drive home their viewpoint that either: everyone else in the planet is wrong, or two that everyone but them does not really understand the situation. Many thanks for your concise, applicable insight.

Good day, sun shines!
There have were times of hardship when I felt unhappy missing knowledge about opportunities of getting high yields on investments. I was a dump and downright stupid person.
I have never thought that there weren't any need in large starting capital.
Nowadays, I feel good, I begin take up real income.
It gets down to choose a proper partner who utilizes your funds in a right way - that is incorporate it in real business, parts and divides the income with me.

You can ask, if there are such firms? I'm obliged to tell the truth, YES, there are. Please be informed of one of them:

Ellen's dancers (I am one among many) have settled into the new studio. We are in the basement of an old building run by an 89 year old man. The studios echo, forcing only one person to talk at one time. The studios next to Ellen's have dance instructors who are intent on using their loudest voices possible, making it difficult to hear the music that Ellen is playing. The door dosent close all the way, and the dressing room is minisule with lockers that are only able to contain a pair of shoes. People have gotten things stolen from the locker room already. Going across the floor is difficult, for we have a limited amount of space.Dance theater Workshop was more than a workshop for me. It was a home and a place to meet new friends and a place to express myself, and it all was taken away from me. Ellen has now lost George, her second love aside from DTW. We all treasured the comforts of DTW-it's polished wood floors, the large locker room and kind people. I just wanna go back home.

Bravo to Ellen Robbins and her students and her assistants Krista Jansen and Brynn Rosen for the amazing work this weekend!
84 solos and 9 group dances. At every performance Ellen graciously and with heartfelt sincerity thanked her DTW supporters over the years. Ellen Robbins is truly a class act and a great arts educator. As a Mom of a young dancer, we will truly miss coming to DTW every week. See you next Spring!

Individual memories of Ellen’s impact on us as kids ARE important! It’s easy and wonderful to get sucked into the nostalgia of my time in the corkboard studio (I haven’t seen the renovation). I danced with Ellen for 13 years and ran my fingers over that dark brown textured surface countless times. I knocked my pigtail holders against the mirror waiting to go across the floor on the diagonal and drove Ellen nuts. I remember the spring days when the mayflies would fall from the ceiling, and the soft smell of a fresh layer of linseed oil applied to that beloved floor.

In that studio my friends and I created new versions of ourselves that had no other outlet for expression. When we were ready (and sometimes when we were not, which provided lessons of their own) we stepped into that black, sanctified space one room over and had one shot to perform our selves. The instant of quiet hum of lekos and fresnels just before the stage became bright filled me with the breath of my life, and I would perform.

Behind it all was Ellen, who tolerated more crap from me than any human being ever deserved, and gave me more than I appreciated at the time. One thing that struck me only years later is that I have no idea how Ellen dances. Her style, her identity as a dancer, was never ever a part of our experience. She was never interested in having us copy her, which I can not say for any other dance teacher I have ever worked with. She wanted us to be ourselves, and nothing more, nothing less.

Even though I no longer dance, that lesson, that who I am is valuable in its uniqueness, gave me power in a world that seeks to put me in a box. It doesn’t matter what the medium is in which this lesson occurs. For me it was dance, for others, it is visual arts, music, science, whatever. What sets Ellen apart is her ability to give this gift of confident individuality to her students.

Fortunately, DTW’s decision will never take those memories away from me. I can only wonder if Ellen’s future classes, if they happen in a space outside of DTW, will be as welcome, as nurtured, and as free as they have been at DTW.

I dearly hope that Stephen Greco, Carla Peterson and the DTW board will come to the showings of Ellen Robbins’ students: “Dances By Very Young Choreographers” this coming weekend, May 16th-18th. You should know and be proud of the special work and community you have supported through Ellen’s dedication for over 30 years. It is also important that you all know the community of young artists, their families and especially the amazing arts educator you have chosen not to support with studio space any more. Bravo to your past and present, much, much sadness for your future.

Maris Abelson, Pele Bausch, Jessica Love - these are kids Ellen inspired as dancers and more importantly as growing, learning, thinking human beings. Ellen was an important building block in their lives. As the mother of one of them, I would welcome the chance to help restore Ellen to DTW, and DTW to our hearts.
