The arts community has been, and always seems to be overlooked. As an artist, issues that matter to me are universal healthcare, affordable housing, and access to the arts. Arts in the schools! Also, did you know that Obama opposes gay marriage? Neither candidate seems to be talking about this much either.

i would really like to hear a conversation about the arts that talks about support for exchanges between US artists and artists from around the world.

Many countries have government agencies or government-supported cultural centers (and ministries of culture) that consistently fund the travel and presentation of their artists overseas as a form of cultural diplomacy as well as sponsoring artists from other countries in the US (for instance the British Council, Goethe Institute, French Institute, etc) because they value this exchange.

I would like all the candidates to address their views on supporting, increasing and promoting this type of artistic exchange, especially in a world where all US citizens, but especially US artists, have become incredibly isolated due to our current administration's policies overseas.

I am an Obama supporter and have a good number of issues that matter to me in this presidential campaign. However, in terms of the arts, the three that come to mind immediately are universal, single-payer health care, affordable housing and the restoration of the arts to the curriculum of every school in the nation.
