Having your say with the state legislature re: Arts in NY

This email was recently sent to the Dance Theater Workshop staff and we thought that you should know about it.

To the Artists of New York,

A new research video project is being developed to explore the who, when, why and how of *New York State Artists* to be shown at *Arts Day in Albany 2008*. The “I am an Artist” video project will allow artists from across New York State to make the ultimate declaration in front of their government representatives by volunteering to participate in filmed interviews, answering 10 questions on the life of an artist. This project is an ideal opportunity for individual artists to make their voices heard at Arts Day, even if they can’t be there in person.

We are looking to record short interviews with individuals and arts groups throughout New York State over the next two months. The footage will then be edited and presented on *Arts Day at the State Capitol in Albany on February 26, 2008*. We will be conducting in-person interviews across New York City and we welcome submissions from all over New York State.

If you are an artist and would like to participate in this project, or if you know NY state artists who may be interested, please let us know!
