Sasa Asentic

My private bio-politics

Mar 5 – 7 at 7:30pm
Post-Show Talk Mar 5 with Sara Nash and Chase Granoff
Friday Night Toast Mar 6

“Sasa Asentic puts in front of us ‘comment dance’. In his case, the body speaks and while speaking, it talks about itself. Instead of a body in front of discourse (presence in front of a language), he offers us a body in discourse.” - Arena Festival Journal of “Mladi Levi” Festival (Ljubljana, Slovenia)

Emerging Serbian choreographer Sasa Asentic probes what it means to be contemporary - personally and publicly - in his solo My private bio-politics. Beginning as an investigation of how dance is experienced in transient Eastern European cultures, the work has grown into an actual dialogue with the audience debating the global expectations of a performing body.
