How to Join the Fiscal Sponsorship Program


Dance Theater Workshop’s Fiscal Sponsorship program is easy to join. Simply call Richert Schnorr at (212) 691-6500 ext. 225 to sign-up for one of our weekly enrollment meetings. There, you’ll be walked through the details of the program, have a chance to ask questions, and in most cases be ready to start raising money by the time you leave!


Bring the following to your enrollment meeting

  • A formal, typed letter requesting Dance Theater Workshop to act as your fiscal sponsor. Include your name, address, date, a project description, and a calendar of scheduled and tentative activities and events through the end of the fiscal year (June 30).
  • Two pieces of supplementary materials that clearly demonstrate you are an active, working artist, such as past or current concert programs, press releases, newspaper clippings or concert flyers. Dance Theater Workshop will keep these materials for your file.
  • Any fundraising material that you are preparing to use, if you have them ready.
  • The $25 enrollment fee

You must meet the following criteria to become a Fiscally Sponsored Artist of Dance Theater Workshop

  • You must be a working artist
  • You must have a valid Social Security # or EIN #. Checks will be paid out through this number, and it must remain consistent throughout our fiscal year.
  • If you are a collective or company, you must designate a point person who will interface with the fiscal sponsorship program. This person must reside in the United States and have a working email address they check regularly.
  • You must be a current member of Dance Theater Workshop.

(It is an IRS requirement that Dance Theater Workshop keep on file a description of each member artist's project for which donation requests are being made, as well as follow-up expense reports. These descriptions must be accompanied by documentation materials, including press releases, flyers, programs, or reviews. Supplementary materials you submit will not be available for return.)
